How do I start a successful blog?

I’ve been asked a lot recently about this question. It appears that there’s also lot of secret bloggers out there that want to push their boundaries and see what they can achieve. Now I’m not talking about quitting your job to pursue a career in blogging, and take the plunge, but at least have all your ducks in a row to be as successful as possible.   So here’s three tips that I think can help you propel your blog to success.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_tta_tabs spacing=”” alignment=”center” autoplay=”5″ active_section=”1″ no_fill_content_area=”true”][vc_tta_section title=”One” tab_id=”1434542999695-a56fab9e-1f6710b4-996eca26-8838″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”10391″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Design” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1477408548840{margin-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1477408579365{margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]Design:I’m a creative thinker, so for me a great aesthetic design was the linchpin. Clean cut, simple and not too crazy. A bit like myself 🙂 The average user will spend mere seconds scanning over a web page before they decide whether or not to stay on it. In a lot of cases, the biggest factor in their decision is going to be the aesthetic appeal of the site. I’m sure you’ve seen at least one page which may have had some great content, but looks so dated that it sends you running. Think about your target market and choose an aesthetic design which will draw them in immediately. If you’re using WordPress whatever you do, don’t stick to WordPress’s default themes! These will stick out like a sore thumb and imply a huge lack of professionalism. Invest in some more unique themes, or educate yourself a little more about web design. Alternatively, you could outsource it to professionals like CandidSky.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=”Two” tab_id=”1434542999696-c5f7d755-fafc10b4-996eca26-8838″][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”10393″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_custom_heading text=”Content” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1477408719828{margin-top: 0px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1477408731229{margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”]The core ingredient of any great blog is what really brings in the traffic – the content. If you want to have any hope of making it as a blogger, you have to make sure you have a stream of regular and high-quality posts. Make sure that the stuff you’re putting out is well-written and highly engaging. I’m not just talking about your spelling and grammar here. You need to define a relatable and interesting writing style, that doesn’t draw too much from existing bloggers. Fill it with useful information, and try to spark a discussion here and there. Furthermore, you need to be setting yourself a good schedule for releasing fresh content and sticking to it. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how many blogs have been lost in the ether because of their irregular posting. Sure, some of your favourite blogs might have a pretty loose focus, and manage to maintain a huge audience through it. However, you’re not going to be able to swim with the sharks straight away. When you’re first starting out, it’s a good idea to keep a very narrow focus, and appeal to a niche audience. If you find a unique gap, your blog’s popularity will skyrocket. On the other hand, if you try to market yourself to everyone, you’ll find it very hard to appeal to anyone![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_tta_section][/vc_tta_tabs][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Make sure your blog has these three key ingredients, and your new passion will get off to a flying start!
