Picking out a gift for loved ones can be a time-consuming process. Christmas is right around the corner, and there’s not much time left to prepare a wonderful gift for your loved ones. Christmas is a time of joyous celebrations that marks the end of the year, and what better way to do it than spending some much needed time with family and friends. It can be quite a panic, with so much to prepare and gifts to wrap. The most memorable presents to give and receive aren’t the latest technologies, best-selling books, or boxes of luxurious chocolates. What’s memorable are items that will stay around for a long time—gifts that keep on giving and can be reused many times over. Instead of buying something from an online retailer or the latest gadgets and gizmos, how about personalising something instead? Personalise Useful Items Around the House One of the cheapest ways to personalise a gift is to design it yourself. Something useful around the house that sees a lot of use, such as a cake tin, can easily be painted or drawn on with some arts and crafts materials. There are a plenty of craft stores in London that stock a wealth of different art supplies to help you customise anything from a cake tin to a vase. Here are some more ideas:

  • Fridge magnets
  • Doormats
  • Kitchen utensils
  • Mugs and cups
But of course, not everyone will have the time to sit down and design their own items. If you want to personalise a household item but don’t want to fuss with art supplies, you could always take a look at an online shop like Oh My Gift. Personalise Something Wearable What other personalised item is used every day? Clothes of course! Whether it’s a shirt, hoodie, or even a pair of shoes, there’s plenty of simple and quick ways to upload images and attach them to different clothing items. But be careful, adding a personal touch can be dangerous! While Dads might be proud to receive a warm sweater that says “BEST DAD”, children probably wouldn’t wear a bright shirt with the phrases “BEST SON” or “BEST DAUGHTER” on it. Personalise Something For the Kids to Remember Christmas is a magical time for children. All the teens ask for the latest music, technology and video games, but it can be difficult to pick out something for younger children or even babies. Children love soft objects. They become attached to items like plushies and blankets so much, that some of that sentimentality carries on even when they’re older. Studies show that up to 70% of young children develop a strong attachment to their toys and blankets, so what better gift to give than a personalised plush toy or blanket? Designing your own gifts is tough work, but thankfully, there are a lot of websites out there that will do most of the work for you. Even if you haven’t hand-made something to gift, whoever receives the present will be getting a wonderful personalised item that’ll remind them of the special occasion that is Christmas.]]>
