Console Gaming, More Control and More Fun with Playstation

Mrs P and I were invited to Playstation’s family event in London last weekend but unfortunately weren’t able to attend! I know right, gutted. Even though I have an Xbox One, I’ve been a playstation fan for years and this sounded perfect. Just look at the venue. Playstation really went above and beyond to make it family friendly and cool looking. Playstation Kids and Parenting Event Bible Event @9 Adams Street,W1 Games available on the day included the following:

  1. FIFA 17
  2. PES
  3. Rocket League
  4. Trackmania Turbo
  5. Tricky Towers
  6. Overwatch
  7. Towerfall
  8. LBP3
  9. Tearaway Unfolded 2
  10. Minecraft
  11. Ratchet and Clank
  12. LEGO Star Wars
  13. LEGO Dimensions
  14. Skylanders Imaginators
Parents were able to ask any questions that they had around the hardware, software or gaming in general – and this is where gaming expert and Scummy Mummies host Ellie Gibson comes in! PlayStation used Ellie’s expertise to discuss the parental guidelines with parents at the event. Below is a range of topics that Ellie was kindly able to provide advice and insight on!
  •  Online safety
  •  Parental controls
  •  Cost of games – not all games are expensive, there are lots of low cost games available, there are also two free games available to download every month with PS Plus
  •  How to manage the amount of time kids spend on consoles
  •  How to set up the console
  •  PlayStation Plus – the benefits
  •  PEGI ratings – what they mean and what to look for?

Gaming for me is a way of escaping stress for just a little bit. But there’s so many benefits of gaming including social, educational, bringing the family together with a fun game or with the likes of virtual reality now an actual reality a whole world of possibilities.

I’ve had so many good times round my console playing pro evo with about 20 friends on my PS3, using Playstation Move when it first came out and probably my favourite, cut the gap between my cousin and I allowing us to play online together even though we were 200 miles away.

Who know’s what is round the corner with gaming? All I know is that it’s in Dorothy’s future, and if the past progression is anything to go by I can’t wait to see what Playstation has round the corner for my family.
