Jungle Jam – Teach your children the joys of music

Having a 9 month old that loves using all of her senses, I must say that music is the key to this girl. From a very early age we’ve had her up at the piano, listening to classical and laughing her head off when Beth plays funny noises on the Clarinet. You see Dorothy’s recently taken part in The Sound of Happy  as music means so much to her and us as a family. So when we got the opportunity to read Dorothy the Jungle Jam book she was mesmerised. Aimed at 0-5, this book looks at the ways in which various musical styles could be incorporated into an engaging story that’s about building teams to work together on an end goal. Mikey the Monkey meets Larry the Lion, Ella the Elephant, Ziggy the Zebra and Gina the Giraffe, on his adventure and at each stage there’s a new musical instrument and chance to sing with them. Bethany loved spending time with Dottie to read to her and it’s an important part in their relational development and we’ve found a number of sounds which Dot now associates with Beth and that reading time that instantly make her smile. Dottie also loves to read with her teddies especially her cheeky monkey 🙂 It’s a great book and we’re hoping there’s a series. So thanks guys for the opportunity to read it and I hope you get a chance too.]]>
