I can't wait to watch Wigan's Stack hub take shape

Wigan Today reports that construction work on Wigan's Stack hub is nearing completion. That is a headline I have been waiting for. As a working dad in the town, I cannot wait to see the building work every day and watch the site turn into something real. Here is the Wigan Today report.

I like a town centre that feels like it is moving forward. You do not need a grand speech about regeneration to enjoy seeing a site go from mess and machinery to somewhere that might actually be useful. The small daily changes are the good bit. A crane moves. A wall appears. The shape of the place starts to make sense.

My test will be simple. Does it give my family another reason to come into Wigan rather than drive past it? I am not asking for the moon. I want somewhere that works on a normal weekend, where you can meet people, have a bite to eat and not feel like you have wasted the trip. If the finished Stack hub does that, the building work will have been worth watching.

For now, the update is that the work is nearly done. I will keep looking each day and hoping the finished place adds something to the town. Wigan has enough empty promises. A finished building would be a better start.
