With a new year around the corner, it’s time to reflect on your successes and failures in 2016. What things went well in your business this year, and what others didn’t quite hit the mark? What could you do differently in 2017 to ensure the continued success of your company? You don’t just want to survive but thrive, and when business is so cut-throat, you will probably be looking at ways to get ahead as much as possible. Here are some of the areas you could look into. Find Out How Satisfied Your Employees Are Your staff are vital in the running of your business. Making sure everyone is kept happy and healthy will boost morale and productivity, which in turn will lead to more profits for you. Email out a survey or send around a suggestions box and carefully analyze the answers, doing this anonymously allows staff to speak honestly without fear of repercussions. What your staff have to say and how they feel is important, and issues may be occurring within the team that you weren’t aware of. Take on board any complaints or problems that your workers may have. If you look after your staff, they will care for your clients or customers. So this is a great place to start if you want to grow and improve your business. Rejig Your Office The layout of your office is more important than you might think. When this is the space your employees will be in for most of the day, the layout and appearance can all affect their mood as well as the way they can perform their job. Consider the tasks your employees perform and create a design which is both comfortable and functional. Modern offices tend to favor an open plan layout, which allows them to interact with co-workers and is useful for both group and collaborative work. Although ideally, your office will feature both collaborative and private areas meaning there’s a suitable space for all tasks. You might also need to upgrade your equipment and software. Good cloud-based security systems and business software for example is extremely important. You could find a company offering IT services and see what kinds of upgrades you can make. Consider a Mobile App The biggest brands on the market might have been first to get their foot in the door in regards to mobile apps, but it’s not something you should overlook for your own smaller business. Focusing on a mobile strategy is beneficial for both now and in the future, especially since more sales are made on tablets and smartphones than laptops and computers. Making sure that your website is properly optimized for smaller screens is the first step.  Mobile apps allow customers to have all your information ready to go on their phone can result in better interaction. This, of course, leads to more sales for you. An app for your business will help to improve your brand and increase brand awareness. Plus having an easy, reliable way for your customers to contact you makes you brand appear much more trustworthy and appealing in the eyes of the customers. These days mobile apps from small businesses are still rare, and this is where you can take a huge leap in front of your competition. You could invest in an app development service and reap the many other benefits a mobile app will have on your business.]]>
