They are the systems that ensure our security, and every day they are more, and much more sophisticated. The active safety systems of the car are those who work to reduce the risk of an accident. Brakes may be the most obvious of all active safety systems, and being systematic we would list dozens of systems. Let’s focus on the ten most popular or common active safety systems in cars, focusing on the elements that have been designed to improve your safety and the safety of those around you.

The tires

Well, we all surely know that we should take good care of our tires and regularly check them. Tires are the main active safety system because they form the only point of contact between the car and the asphalt. If they are not in good condition, they will easily slip and slide. And this will decrease the shortest stopping distance and could possibly cause an accident of some kind. They are the most important active safety system, and curiously, it is the one to which less attention is paid. They should be kept in the best possible condition, with the correct inflation pressure, because only then will it work at 100% of its capacity.

Anti-lock brakes

Anti-lock brakes are better known as ABS, and its main function is to prevent the tires from skidding during hard braking. ABS detects which wheel is slipping on the asphalt, and releases pressure from the brake system. In this way, the tires are always in contact with the road and the braking efficiency is infinitely better, except on some exceptional occasions.

Fuel up!

It is very dangerous to run out of fuel on the road. If you’re on a long journey and entering a zone with limited phone signal, you could be stuck. Therefore, it’s important to look at red diesel from fuelbox.co.uk, which offers a revolutionary solution.

Blind spot detection

Interesting security system which represents the detection of the blind spot can really help save lives. It is a big problem when we travel on the highway or highway and, when faced with a maneuver such as overtaking. Stay safe and don’t collide.

Power steering

The power steering is one of those active safety systems “incognito”. It may seem that it is a system that provides greater comfort to the driver, but the truth is that advances in power steering serve. This will definitely provide greater safety and precise guidance at high speed which can keep you and your whole family safe. The main power steering systems are hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electric, although the latter is the most widely used today.

Traction control

Traction control, or TCS, is an active safety system that works to keep the drive wheel tires in contact with the road without skidding. This can be, for example, starting on a slippery slope or in any situation where we need traction, but the firm slides. Not to be confused with stability control, it’s still something you should consider in your car.
