At some point, everyone will go through a period where they consider their career. I looked hard and long at mine when Dorothy was born and it made me really think about what was important in all of our lives. Some people may even go through multiple periods where they’re thinking about what they want to do. If this happens to you, and you find yourself constantly trying to figure out what career path is the right one, don’t worry. It’s a perfectly normal thing to do, in fact, as seen in this article on http://www.independent.co.uk, it wasn’t long ago when half the country wanted to change careers! Now, I know you’ve clicked on this article for one of two reasons. You’re either a regular reader, in which case, pat yourself on the back for choosing such a great blog! Or, you’re looking for advice on finding a great career. Specifically, you want to know the secret to finding one. It may surprise you to know that there is a secret to finding the perfect career. Furthermore, it’s something that applies to everyone. So, pay attention, as all is about to be revealed.

What’s The Secret To Finding A Great Career?

Longevity. There you go, that’s the secret. Longevity means you do something for a very long time. In career terms, it refers to a career that you can do now, and it will still be as valuable and important in ten or twenty years time. Essentially, you’re looking for a career that will always have importance.

What Careers Have Longevity?

There are plenty of careers out there that have longevity. Mainly, anything that involves helping other people will be built for the future. As you can see here, https://www.animascoaching.com/dptc/ careers such as being a life coach are built to last. You’re dedicated your work to helping others develop, it will always be of value to someone. There are other ideas too, such as technical support careers. If you work to help assist people with technology, you’ll always have a career as new tech comes in and people need help with it. Then, there are the obvious suggestions such as being a doctor or nurse and helping people with their health.

What Careers Don’t Have Longevity?

Similarly, there are many careers not built to last. The best example is a retail career. The world of retail is changing, and there may well come a time where no retail assistants are needed. Basically, avoid careers where the service you provide can be taken over by technology. As a general rule, if you want careers that will last, look at my article here https://www.corporatedad.co.uk/work/recruitment/ as well as thinking about what I spoke about above.

Why Is Longevity Important?

Longevity is important because it means the work you do is needed by lots of people. What this means is that jobs are in high-demand, so more and more companies are started that provide this type of work. So, even if you do get let go, you will find it easy to walk into another job as your career is valued highly and there are always jobs about. I hope you found this article useful and that it’s given you something to think about when you’re figuring out your career. Think about the future, not just the present.    ]]>
